Monthly meetings Suffolk La Leche League offers mother to mother support for breastfeeding. Leaders are volunteers who have breastfed their own babies, completed a training programme and are accredited by LLLGB. Meetings currently take place every second and fourth Thursday of the month, 10am-12noon, at the Ravenswood Community Children's Centre, Hening Avenue, Ipswich IP3 9QJ. Pregnant women, new parents, babies and toddlers are always welcome. Meetings are informal and friendly. We provide an opportunity to meet with other nursing mothers or those who have finished breast-feeding to exchange experiences and offer support to one another. Each meeting has a theme, although any concerns can be brought for discussion. Refreshments are provided by the Children’s Centre, although we tend to bring snacks to share too. A voluntary donation of £1.00 is suggested to cover the meeting costs. Optional LLL membership Although the monthly meetings are open meetings (don't worry if you don't make it for 10am - we all know what it's like!) there is the option of becoming a member of La Leche League GB for an annual subscription of £25.00 (£15.00 if unwaged). The subscription enables LLLGB to meet it's running costs and help support more mothers to breastfeed successfully. In return, you will receive a bi-monthly edition of 'Breastfeeding Matters', which is written by mothers for mothers. |
